Recent FDA and CDC recall on organic carrots
Good news! Your organic carrots from the Co-op are unaffected.
Date of Recall: Nov 16, 2024
Reason for Recall:
The FDA and CDC have announced an outbreak investigation of E. coli O121:H19 in organic whole and baby carrots.
Was the product in the Co-op when the recall was issued?
No, New Pioneer has not carried the specific item brands or lots affected by this recall. Our Produce Coordinator has confirmed the carrots sold at the Co-op were not the brands or lots affected. As of Nov 18, 2024, there have been no case counts reported in the state of Iowa. These products are likely no longer available for sale in stores.
Affected Products: Organic whole carrots, but were available for purchase at retail stores from August 14 through October 23, 2024, but again, not at the Co-op. For your reference, we have included details for the affected products below.
